About Us

The Labour Code 2019 is a website developed by the Legal Department, the Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) and administered by the Labour and Social Affairs Information Center (LSAIC) with the support of the International Labour Organization (ILO), including the New Industrial Relations Framework Project (NIRF).
The Labour Code 2019 website is designed to provide comprehensive and official information about the Labour Code 2019, helping employees and employers to have a better understanding of the regulations and new points of the Labour Code 2019 in comparison to the previous Labour Codes.
The Labour Code of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam was issued on June 23, 1994 and took effect from January 1, 1995. After 24 years, the Labour Code has been amended four times in 2002, 2006, 2007 and 2012. To meet the requirements of socio-economic development and international economic integration, the National Assembly ratified the new Labour Code No. 45/2019/QH14 on 20 November 2019. The new Labour Code has 17 chapters and 220 articles and comes into effect from January 1, 2021.
